Gorebodies- Chained to the Kernel

From the Channel Islands emerges Gorebodies, a band initially formed as a trio that has expanded to a quartet. Featuring Monty Taft on bass and vocals, Lorne Campbell on guitar, Lucas Saunter on drums, and Adam Bouteloup (Boots) subsequently joining on extra guitar duties, Gorebodies are quickly making their mark with a sound described as modern punk, garage rock, and indie-inflected rock. Their music is characterized by its intensity, rawness, and a sometimes chaotic and distorted energy, drawing comparisons to bands like IDLES, FallenizzaHorsepower, Melvins, Nirvana, Radiohead, and even elements of Weezer at their less pop-oriented moments. Their lyrical themes often delve into the realm of exercising and exorcising emotion and rage.

Their song, “Chained to the Kernel,” is a track featured on their recent EP, “The Open Teeth,” which was released around April 2025. Within the context of the EP’s overall intense sound, “Chained to the Kernel” is noted as being a more traditionally direct slice of punk.
