Boogie Woogie Revealed That He’s A Clown & A Magician

During The Masked Singer season 13 Voices of Olympus: Unmasking of the Gods Night, Boogie Woogie made everyone laugh by coming out on stage dancing. Robin noted that he could move, while Jenny pointed out that he was tall, and maybe a basketball player. Boogie Woogie sang a rousing rendition of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. Boogie Woogie’s clue package began with him seeing his mask for the first time. He gushed, “Yes! I love it! This is me. I am him. He is me. We are one.”

As the camera zoomed in on Boogie Woogie’s gold chain, he said, “Becoming Boogie Woogie feels like disco destiny ’cause my whole childhood, I’d do anything to be the center of attention. And look at this guy. He’s certainly capturing the spotlight.” As Boogie Woogie disco danced, he revealed, “Back in the day, I had extravagant dreams of being a clown. So I taught myself to juggle.” He then juggled three colorful items. Andy has revealed that he wanted to be a clown when he was a child because he loved making people happy. He even learned to juggle.

Boogie Woogie went on to say, “Then, in high school, I shifted to more serious aspirations–being a magician! I even entered a talent show and won.” Boogie Woogie then waved a magic wand over a top hat and pulled out a magazine that said, “Boogie Woogie Magazine.” Andy has a song called “Magic,” and his 2014 album is titled, Magazines or Novels.

Boogie Woogie continued, “And when I graduated, the only job I could hustle up was busking, which didn’t exactly pay the bills.” His hat was then filled with quarters. Boogie Woogie admitted, “It was more panic, less disco.” Andy began his music career as a busker on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California.

As Boogie Woogie sat down to play a piano, he said, “But I trusted that this was my calling because I believe in a thing called doing what you love. And one moment can change everything. Now, Apollo, the god of music himself, has called me up here to add The Masked Singer to my resume, right under magician and clown.” Boogie Woogie then held out a disco ball.

After his performance, Boogie Woogie said, “Now listen. My main magic trick for this whole situation is to make the other monsters and singers disappear. But in like a loving, fun situation.” Andy’s 2024 album is titled, Monster.

During The Masked Singer season 13 Ghostbusters Night, Boogie Woogie sang an electrifying version of “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons. Boogie Woogie began his clue package by saying, “Just like in Ghostbusters, there are ghosts everywhere! You know what I do? I put on my headphones, and I just keep moving.” Various colored eyes popped out of the shadows at he said this.

As Boogie Woogie danced, he said, “You wanna gossip? Super not my thing! I try to keep it positive with everything I do. It’s something I learned from my parents at a very young age. I mean, they made kids’ shows, so it makes sense. They did everything they could do to give me a really good life.”

A photograph of Boogie Woogie’s parent monsters was then shown. Andy’s father, Red Grammer, is an acclaimed children’s music writer and performer. He appeared with Andy on the mystery celebrity relative singing show, We Are Family. His mom, Kathryn Willoughby Grammer, was also a singer, and she co-wrote many of Red’s songs for children, including their award-winning album, Teaching Peace.

A disco ball then turned into the sun as Boogie Woogie said, “Little did I know this sunny outlook would spark my whole career. And that’s what I’ve become known for.” A telescope with a star in it was then shown. As Boogie Woogie danced in a city park, he said, “I’ve been told that my positivity radiates, and that it’s even saved lives. Boogie Woogie added, “But of course with all the optimism comes criticism. Some people call me naive, sheltered, fake. I’m not gonna lie: that hurts.” As he said this, he was hit with crumpled up pieces of paper that were thrown at him. Andy’s 2019 album is called, Naive.

Boogie Woogie then shrugged it off and said, “But I’m not gonna stop being me. I can’t! And if it continues to make people happy, then I have done my job.” He then picked up a pair of gold dancing shoes. Boogie Woogie concluded his clue package by saying, “But, for tonight only, I’m tapping into a darkness that I never show to spook the competition.” The dancing shoes were a reference to his 2015 stint on Dancing With The Stars season 21, when he placed 7th with his professional dance partner, Allison Holker.

After Boogie Woogie’s performance, another clue was given about his identity. Original Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson delivered the clue, which was a certificate that said, “Doctorate of Medical Science.” Boogie Woogie explained, “Nothing scary about this clue. In fact, being attached to this show was a very pleasant surprise.” Andy has performed for patients at several different hospitals.

Boogie Woogie later revealed that when he was 8 or 9, he wore the full Proton Pack for Halloween, and it was a big deal for him to get to stand next to Ernie Hudson. Boogie Woogie Paid Tribute To His Beloved Mom

During The Masked Singer season 13 Group B finals on Grand Ole Opry Night, the three remaining contestants, Boogie Woogie, Griffin, and Pearl, opened the show with a rousing rendition of “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” by Big & Rich. Boogie Woogie began his competition performance by saying, “Mom, this is for you.” He then sang a powerful and moving version of “Something in the Water” by Carrie Underwood.

Boogie Woogie began his clue package by saying, “The halls of the Grand Ole Opry have been filled with some of the best voices of all-time. But, for me, there was no one with a better voice than my mom.” A framed photograph of Boogie Woogie’s mom was then shown. He explained, “She and my dad were musicians, and they filled the halls of our home with happy songs and uplifting lyrics. I guess you could say that’s where I got it. There must’ve been something in the water.” This was another reference to Andy’s parents’ music careers.

Three vases with flowers and a black flag with an X made of two white bones were then shown. Andy co-wrote the single “Bones” for Galantis ft. One Republic. Boogie Woogie then placed a red rose in front of his mom’s photograph as he shared, “But, a few years ago, I lost my mom. And, suddenly, the house was quiet. It was empty. On that day, I was changed. A darkness washed over me, and I was out of hope. I found it hard to keep going.” Andy’s mom passed away due to breast cancer in 2009.

Boogie Woogie then turned on a record player as he said, “The one thing I did have was her recordings. So I began playing her music. And suddenly, I felt the rooms fill with her warmth again.” A green book that said “English 101” on the cover was then shown. The English textbook is a reference to the family’s last name, Grammer (grammar).

Boogie Woogie was then shown hugging a record. He concluded his clue package by saying, “I miss her every day. But hearing her voice is the next best thing to having her here. And, tonight, I have faith that I’ve got an angel on my side.”

Boogie Woogie explained, “People say I hit a real home run at the World Series.” Andy sang the National Anthem during Game 1 of the 2015 World Series, and Game 6 of the 2022 World Series.

After the audience and panelists voted, Pearl advanced directly to the Lucky 6, while Griffin and Boogie Woogie fought for the other Group B spot in the Battle Royale. They each sang their own unique versions of “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone ft. Morgan Wallen.

Before the results were announced, Detective Lucky Duck appeared to give an important clue about all three panelists. He said, “There is one singer from season 6 that all three Group B finalists have a connection to.” It was Katharine McPhee, who was Banana Split, along with her husband and legendary record producer, David Foster. In 2022, both Andy and Katharine both performed on the CBS special, A Home for the Holidays. Boogie Woogie then won the Battle Royale because the panelists voted for him, and he moved on to the Lucky 6, while Griffin was unmasked and revealed to be actor James Van Der Beek.

During The Masked Singer season 13 Lucky 6 Night, Boogie Woogie sang a beautiful and powerful rendition of “Unsteady” by X Ambassadors, which showcased his incredible falsetto. He began his clue package by saying, “I gotta say, I never anticipated enjoying a competition like this so much. But–spoiler alert!–there’s no one enjoying this more than my kids. Everything I do is for them, and I just can’t wait for the moment when we’re all sat on the couch, and they realize it was me under here the whole time.” Andy has two children with his wife of 12 years, singer and songwriter Aijia Grammer.

The Masked Singer season 13 quarter finals on Soundtrack of My Life Night began with Boogie Woogie and his fellow Top 5 contestants–Coral, Mad Scientist Monster, Nessy, and Pearl–singing a fantastic rendition of “More Than a Feeling” by Boston. Boogie Woogie later sang a gorgeous rendition of “Golden Hour” by JVKE, which showcased his incredible falsetto and awesome rapping.

Boogie Woogie began his clue package by saying, “I’m so glad I made it this far. And I definitely wouldn’t have made it here on my own. There’s one person who has helped shape the soundtrack of my life.” Boogie Woogie’s wife then gave some clues about him, while wearing a mask and with her voice disguised. Andy is married to Aijia Grammer, a singer and songwriter.

Boogie Woogie’s wife said, “I have a case of disco fever watching my hunky husband on that stage. And you can tell he’s truly having so much fun, which is my biggest hope for him. I remember how hard he took the loss of his mother. I had never seen him so low. But he channeled all of his grief into his writing. And he made some of the most inspiring hits because of it.” This was another reference to the passing of Andy’s mom.

Boogie Woogie’s wife continued, “He’s inspired my music too.” At that point, a silver record was shown. Andy’s wife, Aijia Grammer, released an EP called Learning to Let Go in 2012.
