Of the many actors populating the Hollywood A-list landscape right now, Chris Hemsworth is one of the less typical cases. Most actors get their start in smaller independent movies and work their way up to blockbuster status. In Hemsworth’s case, his feature film debut was part of a major IP, Star Trek. After playing George Kirk in 2009, the actor made his MCU debut as the titular Norse God superhero in Thor in 2011. From there, he has continued to be a huge blockbuster actor, recently providing his voice acting talents to Transformers One.
Other actors have had more conventionally varied careers. Such is the case with Halle Berry, who got her start in roles in films like Jungle Fever, Strictly Business, and Boomerang. She later transitioned into more conventional blockbuster work, making her debut as Storm in X-Men in 2000 and Catwoman in Catwoman in 2004. She is still a part of major action movies, acting in The Union and Never Let Go last year. Pretty soon, Berry and Hemsworth will be joining forces with other A-listers for a crime thriller that just scored a release date.
