The Empty Threats, a post-punk/noise-rock band from Adelaide, Australia, are set to release their new single, “The One,” on May 16, 2025. This track follows their recent single “Phone Call” and continues their exploration of themes like anxiety, existential dread, and queer identity, all delivered with their signature blend of snarling bass, frenzied guitar work, and electric clarinet.
To celebrate the release, The Empty Threats will host a launch event at the Crown and Anchor Hotel in Adelaide on May 16. This show marks their first performance at the venue since 2023 and will be the last before its high-profile closure. Supporting acts include Sleepazoid from Victoria and Effie Isobel.
Known for their electrifying live performances, The Empty Threats have shared stages with artists like Methyl Ethel, Mildlife, and Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers, and have appeared at festivals including WOMADelaide and Yours & Owls. Band Page: https://www.instagram.com/theemptythreats/?hl=en
