The first season broke a ton of records on Crunchyroll, only for the second season to break those same records even further.

According to a recent AMA, Soto Furahashi had his eyes on Solo Leveling a whopping 5 years before the anime was released, “My first encounter with Solo Leveling was around 2019, when I started developing an interest in WEBTOON. I thought the manhwa was genuinely fascinating, and I felt that if such a visually powerful work were to be adapted into an anime, it would become a truly amazing visual piece. That’s when I initiated the anime adaptation project within Aniplex”.

Solo Leveling is one of the highest quality anime in recent years, and it is all thanks to the slow and hard work of the series’ production team.

The first season of Solo Leveling didn’t come out until 2024, with the second following in 2025. Furahashi’s quote shows that adapting a good manhwa takes a lot of time. Solo Leveling Has Broken Record After Record Thanks To The Work The Producers Put Into It

Solo Leveling looks magnificent in every one of its 25 episodes, and a large part of that is just how much effort A-1 Studios has put into the hit manhwa. The Beginning After the End, another beloved Webtoon, had such a disastrous debut that the anime series looks dead before it can even be given a chance, and most people hold Studio A-Cat responsible.

Fans of Solo Leveling lucked out when A-1 Studios was put on the project. Later in the same Reddit thread mentioned above, animation producer at A-1 Studios, Atsushi Kaneko, mentions just how much work his studio puts into Solo Leveling, “Episode 24 really stood out for me. I don’t recall the exact average, but most Solo Leveling episodes typically had around 8,000 to 10,000 frames. Episode 24 had about 17,000—which completely eclipses the others”.

Epsiode 24 features one of the best fights in anime history when Jinwoo heads to Jeju Island and takes on the Ant King. The fight is stunning visually, and only a dutiful studio like A-1 Pictures could have pulled it off. No wonder the Solo Leveling anime was in production five years before the series ever debuted.
