Solo Leveling has always been one of the most popular manhwa around, if not the most popular, for its gorgeous artwork and incredible fight scenes, and when it was officially greenlit for an anime, fans knew they were in for something big.
Sure enough, Solo Leveling’s anime became a smash hit overnight, but while fans expected that, the same can’t be said for the staff. In a recent Reddit AMA with Solo Leveling producers Atsushi Kaneko and Sota Furuhashi, they discussed Solo Leveling’s success in the aftermath of season 2’s finale, and surprisingly, Solo Leveling’s producers said that while they knew it was popular, they never expected it to be as massively popular as it ended up becoming.
