Baby Reindeer is one of the most disturbing TV series in recent memory, but they had a touching moment at the end of episode 6, when they dedicated it to Llewellyn Harrison. Released in 2024, the Netflix miniseries blew up seemingly overnight, and won many major awards, including the Emmy for Best Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Adapted from Richard Gadd’s one-man show about his experience with a stalker, Baby Reindeer tells the true story of Donnie Dunn (Gadd), an aspiring comedian who finds himself mercilessly stalked by Martha Scott (Jessica Gunning), a woman he serves at a pub.

Though Baby Reindeer had an explosive ending with episode 7, the penultimate episode was arguably more intense. In episode 6, things come to a head between Donny and Martha when he tries to entrap her, which backfires terribly, and things get even worse when Teri (Nava Mau) dumps him. After everything he’s been through, Donny breaks down while performing at the comedy finals, divulging to the audience all the abuse he’s been through at the hands of Martha and Darrien (Tom Goodman-Hill). Amidst the intensity, you may have missed the Llewellyn Harrison tribute card, but he’s a name that deserves to be remembered.

Llewellyn Harrison Was A Key Grip On Baby Reindeer Who Passed Away In 2024

He Was A Key Grip Who Worked On The Netflix Series

While many viewers were curious about the real-life people whom Baby Reindeer is based on, the late Llewellyn Harrison had nothing to do with the disturbing true events. Harrison was actually a member of the Baby Reindeer crew, serving as a key grip for all 7 episodes. A key grip is a senior role on film and TV shoots, who leads the grip department in rigging, setting up, and adjusting all camera, lighting, and other electrical equipment. It’s a pivotal role that doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

As he’s not a public figure, not much is known about Llewellyn Harrison. Since filming for Baby Reindeer wrapped in March 2023, and the series premiered in April 2024, Harrison must have passed away in between that time frame, likely at the start of 2024. In addition to the Baby Reindeer tribute card, which read, “In loving memory of Llewellyn Harrison,” a JustGiving crowdfunding page was set up to help his family cover the costs of the funeral. The page said of Harrison,

Llewellyn was a much-loved colleague, friend and mentor to many. His sudden death has shocked us all, and his absence will be truly missed.

The campaign earned far more than its initial fundraising goal of £500, with all donations totaling £12,610. Based not only on the huge amount of money raised, but also the outpouring of loving and supportive comments from the donors, it’s clear that Llewellyn Harrison touched a lot of lives. One particularly heartfelt comment from Francesca Brooks reads, “The sweetest grip in the world. The film industry will be a worse place without him.
