The following contains spoilers for Until Dawn, now playing in theatersThe Until Dawn movie secretly has another ending, and it will be months before viewers can see it. Inspired by the 2015 choose-your-own-adventure game, the movie focuses on a group of teenagers who are desperately trying to survive a supernatural death loop. They are targeted by armed killers, a wendigo, and Peter Stormare’s Dr. Hill, while doing their best to survive through Until Dawn‘s final moments. The movie was released on April 25 and had a budget of $15 million, and it is expected to earn approximately $8 million in its opening weekend.
Like most horror movies, Until Dawn hinges on its finale, but director David F. Sanberg admits that it is not the only official ending. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Sandberg acknowledged that there is an alternate conclusion, which will be included among the other deleted scenes when the movie enters the home video market. While he did not explain what the alternate finale would entail, he did explain that the main cast would have the same fate, with some slight differences. Check out Sanberg’s quote below:
There is an alternate ending to the film in the deleted scenes, which will be in the home video release! It ends the same way for the main cast, but it’s a little different.
