Lautner then starred in Adam Sandler’s Western action-comedy The Ridiculous Six. Unfortunately, the venture proved even less successful than Lautner’s previous action films, becoming one of the 2010s movies to score 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. Following this, Lautner changed tack by starring in the low-budget indie vehicle Run the Tide in 2016, aiming to flex more of his acting talents and show a different side to the star, but this too attracted criticism from critics.

There, he meets and falls for the groom’s sister, played by Hyland. The only problem is that Scott has no idea who the groom actually is.
The Token Groomsman marks the first time Lautner has ever led a Hollywood movie before, and if the rom-com does well, it’s bound to open up many more opportunities for the actor. However, perhaps even more excitingly is Lautner’s upcoming TV series, Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, a hyper-meta project that uses the actor’s disappearance from the spotlight for comedic fodder. As Lautner hasn’t been able to distance himself from the Twilight Saga the way Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have, his leaning into it is actually all kinds of brilliant.
